Set in the midst of the beautiful Dorchester countryside, Charminster golf club is a generous but still somewhat challenging parkland course, which poses many tests irrespective of ability. Many a low handicapper has been left humbled by the course having succumbed to its vast number of hazards, including some deceptively and strategically placed bunkers.
Eighteen holes played over the relatively short distance of 5467 yards, underestimating the course can be a fatal mistake to make. Patient play, concentration and accuracy from the tee are absolutely essential conditions to master to keep your scorecard looking respectable.
Visitors are welcome every day other than Sundays which is reserved for competitions, and the excellent bar and restaurant facilities offer a pleasant post-round place to relax.
