In a wonderful parkland setting, Blackwell Grange Golf Club offers 18 holes of challenging golf to individuals, small parties or larger groups. In addition to the many established trees throughout the course, in the last ten years a further 7,000 specimens have been planted – bringing added beauty to an already remarkable setting. The 1st is a straight 400 yards tree-lined hole with a significant specimen on the right at 309 yards. With trees also the left, a straight shot will ensure a good opening. At the next, often described as the signature hole, the first shot is over water. For those who like a real challenge, the pleasure can be re-visited on the approach to the green where another pond lies in wait!
At the 15th there is a simple choice. Either go for a straight shot along the side or opt for a drive of some 150 yards over water. Just to add a little spice to the proceedings, there’s a cunningly placed bunker in the middle of the fairway at 225 yards. Further bunkers, placed in front of the green, certainly concentrate the mind.
