» Getting the Putting Setup Right

While putting seems to be one of the easier aspects of golf, a little look at scorecards will soon show that most of our putting stats are not too hot. Everyone wants to take a maximum of 2 putts on every hole.

But getting your putter working can mean the difference between saving your Par and ending up with a Double Bogey. Create the right setup to get a slighly upward contact on the golf ball to get it rolling.

» The Grip

Gripping the putter is very much a personal choice. What is key is to ensure that the putter is flat to the ground.

» Setup Position

One of the key areas to help your putting is to make sure that when you get setup to play the putter, your eye line is directly over the top of the ball. This will help you to see the line of the putt and with your left eye over the ball, you will also get a slight accending blow when stricking the golf ball and help it to start rolling.
