The Duke's St Andrews is the 100th Club to Join the Challenge
The Duke's St Andrews has become the 100th golf club to sign up for the National Golf Club Challenge.
The Challenge, recently featured on the European Tour website, will be held on the 24th and 25th July 2010and will bringhundreds of golf clubs together on the same weekend as part of a nationwide charity golf event – with the aim of raising a million pounds for the Help for Heroes charity.

The Duke's St Andrews As well as helping raise money for charity, golfers from The Duke's will compete with thousands of other golfers throughout the UK for some outstanding prizes – including golf holidays to Egypt.

The Challenge – 100 Clubs and Counting
With golf clubs entering on a daily basis, the National Golf Club Challenge is on course to become the largest amateur golf event to take place in the UK.

Reaching 100 clubs is a significant mile-stone for the Challenge, and having such a renowned club as The Duke's sign up makes it a double celebration. Our aim of course, is to encourage hundreds more golf clubs to get involved.”

The National Golf Club Challenge Final Ten golfers from the top six scoring clubs will be invited to play in The Grand Final. The Final, sponsored by YourGolfTravel.com, will be held over two days in October at The Belfry, four times host to the Ryder Cup.
The Help for Heroes National Golf Club Champions will win seven nights (for the winning ten golfers) at the 5 star Marriott Taba Heights Resort on the Sinai Peninsula.
About Help for Heroes Help for Heroes was the idea of appeal chairman Bryn Parry and a group of friends and relations. They wanted to help wounded soldiers returning home from combat and came up with several fundraising ideas which led to Help for Heroes being born.
