Another Robert Trent Jones course, this bears all his hallmarks – elevated greens that demand accurate placement from the fairway, cunningly sited bunkers that require precise placement from the tee, and a host of water hazards (10 lakes in all, fed by streams that meander through the layout) that have to be avoided.
Also known as ‘Royal Las Brisas’ (although if it has a royal charter, it is not from the UK), the course is of sufficient quality to have hosted many important events, including the Spanish Open four times, and the Nations Cup twice.
It is usually in excellent condition, thanks in large part to the imported Bermuda grass.
