About the Club

One of Northumberland’s best kept secrets is the breathtaking beauty of Longhirst Hall Golf Course.
Scenic views and panoramic countryside make this an expansive Florida-style course with an elegant English touch – a unique concept.

The course is sprinkled with lakes. Ducks, geese and swans share the surroundings with the golfers. You can see the grounds of the old hall in the east and there’s Blueberry Wood in the north. In 1997 when The Old Course opened, 42,000 trees were planted. Since then a further 10,000 have been planted , adding to the landscape created in the design of the second course.

On 30th June 2003 Longhirst began operating two 18 Hole Courses, The Dawson Course and The Lakes Course. The 2 course layout runs from 01 April to 31 October each year, then we revert back to our original layout (The Old Course) from 01 Nov to 31 Mar. Longhirst Hall Golf Course continues to mature and grow into what is now a first class golfing venue in the North East of England , and is a must play destination.

Courses & Scorecards

The Old Course

Longhirst Hall Golf Course was opened in June 1997. This layout now plays as The Old Course, a par 73 off the Yellow Tees and measuring 6398 yards, with full spec winter greens if required. It has been skilfully modelled to provide some of the most stunning holes in the country. On the fascinating 17th, for example, you drive downhill past two lakes before aiming for a narrow green flanked by a pond on either side.

The Lakes Course

The Lakes Course is a true test of accuracy. Tight fairways and an abundance of water make it a test for even the best golfers. A thoughtful progression around the course is required. The par 3, 6th and the par 4, 17th are truly stunning holes that have to be played to be believed.

Course playable 01 April to 31 October.

The Dawson Course

The Dawson Course is a more relaxing round of golf but can still give a bite if you're not on your game. Wider fairways and large greens are more forgiving but can make for the 3 putt!! Lakes and water features in abundance again. The par 4, 5th and the par 4, 14th stand out, demanding accuracy and a bit of nerve.

Course playable from 01 April to 31 October each year.
