The location could not be better, within easy reach of The North Circular Road, close to Mill Hill East underground station on the Northern Line. Finchley is set in the grounds of an imposing Victorian stately home that has served as the clubhouse for more than 70 years. The panorama above shows the view from the Veranda of the clubhouse, where you can relax and enjoy a drink and some food after your round while watching the action on the 12th, 13th and 18th holes.
The 6,356 yard, par 72 wooded, picturesque, parkland course is recognised as the finest challenge of golf in London. Designed by five-times Open winner James Braid, his short, uphill 12th hole, "Braid's Masterpiece", is one of the best know par threes in the south of England.
In mid-summer, when the trees are in full leaf, the views are stunning. It is easy to forget you are close to central London. The fairways are lush but narrow, the sloping greens are fast and tricky. The panorama above includes views of the back nine holes. Finchley boasts a huge variety of trees some of which can be seen in this picture.
Everything is done to make visitors feel at home. Buggies, trolleys, clubs and shoes are all available for hire from club professional David Brown. Booking tee times in advance is always advisable.
The Club also boasts excellent catering, whether you are looking for a bar snack or a three-course meal in the oak panelled dining room overlooking the 18th green.
