This beautiful championship golf course is located within the magnificent Camperdown Country Park.
Camperdown provides a testing challenge. Its undulating fairways meander through avenues of mature trees, surrounding the imposing Camperdown House. The main features are the tight fairways and stunning views.
The course has just moved on to Winter Greens and as such, the holes are shorter. However, the tee-boxes have also been moved further forward (I presume to allow the existing tees to be repaired) and this can make the course feel a little... disappointing.
As an example, a par 4 has been shortened to the extent, that a low iron or wedge can land you on the green from the Tee, and an eagle/birdie is almost a given.
I can appreciate that the greens and Tees need to be given time to repair and get back to a summer green standard, however, shortening the hole at beginning and end takes the challenge away.
