About the Club

Beaufort Golf Resort, County Kerry, Ireland is an 18 hole Parkland course, nestled amongst 200 year old trees, 15th Century Castle ruins, beautiful lakes and rolling meadows, uniquely surrounded by the magnificence of the MacGillycuddy Reeks.

Facilities at Beaufort Golf Resort include a 7004 yard 18 hole course, friendly Clubhouse, Bar and Restaurant, Pro Shop, Putting Green and Car Park.

Beaufort Golf Resort is situated close to many hotels, guesthouses and B&B’s and only 20 minutes drive from Kerry Airport.

There has been significant upgrading to Beaufort Golf Course in the past 2 years. These include the addition of lakes, fairway bunkers and mounds. The course was redesigned by Tom Mc Kenzie, a world renowned golf architect.

Beaufort Golf Course Killarney is part of Churchtown Estate, the centre piece of which is the Georgian house built in 1740 by Sir Roland Blennerhassett. The estate was bought in 1860 by James MacGillycuddy Magill and it is his grandson and great grandsons who own it today and who have developed this great course. The ruins of Castle Core stand beside the 13th green and it was from here that the stone was taken to build the house. The entrance to the course is lined with two hundred year old trees and the pineapples which crown the gate pillars are a traditional symbol of hospitality.

The course presents magnificent views of the world famous MacGillycuddy Reeks from all points. The natural drainage of the site and the exceptionally mild climate of south west Ireland will guarantee enjoyable golf throughout the year.

"The 11th is breathtaking and the 12th, through a sweeping green valley, is just awesome in scope."

Nicky Barry, The Kingdom

The first nine holes are located to the west of the avenue while the back nine are nearer the mountains on the southern aspect.

The clubhouse complex is located within the courtyard adjacent to the main house and overlooks the practice putting green, beyond which is the formal rose garden. This complex incorporates all the facilities you would expect from a modern golf development whilst embracing a traditional and warm atmosphere.

Beaufort Golf Course is an 18 hole Championship Standard par 71. The Course measures 6587 yds from the medal tees and 5310 yds from the ladies tees.

Directions

Beaufort Golf Club is located in a valley created by the ice age more than 10,000 years ago. Ireland's highest mountains, the McGillycuddy Reeks, provide the backdrop for this tranquil and friendly place. Beaufort is just a few miles from Killarney, the center for golf in Ireland and the country's most vibrant town.

From Killarney head west and follow the road signs for Killorglin and the Ring of Kerry. Approximately 4 miles (7 Kilometres) from the town take a lefthand turn where Beaufort bridge crosses the river Laune. Take the next right turn into Beaufort Village and continue until you see the signs for Beaufort Golf Course on the left.
