The course of the Golf & Country Club of Bassin Bleu is situated in an altitude of 400 meters at the mountainside, offering views on the bathing resort St. Gilles in the west of the island.
During the last few years, the club has been updated with massive changes to the club house.
With 9 holes looking out across to the Indian Ocean and 9 holes which run through a eucalyptus forest, a great place to visit and enjoy while in Reunion Island.
Bassin Bleu has undergone a lot of work over the last few years and I have to say for the first time, it was a pleasure to play.
Lots of work has been done on the greens and the greens now respond to approach shots and putting is a pleasure. The course offers a great mixture of holes, from elevated drives over a ravine (do not slice it here) to a number of holes which run through some eucalyptus trees with tight fairways.
The clubhouse has been renovated as well - just needs a little more life.
Hitting the greens is the most important so do not worry about distance too much - iron off the tee to ensure you hit the green with your approach shot.
