About the Club

The course was designed by the Welsh Ryder Cup player Dave Thomas, who has been responsible for several renowned courses, including the Brabazon at the Belfry. It is a good test for golfers of all levels and is always in excellent condition. It plays well all the year round, even in winter, as temporary greens are never used. From the White Tees the course is over 7,100 yards (6,490 metres) long, and presents a stiff challenge for low handicap golfers. At some 500 yards (457 metres) shorter, the course off the Yellow Tees is a fair test for higher handicap players, making it eminently suitable for society and corporate events.

The course consists of two halves that are very different in character; the front nine is undulating on higher ground and has stunning views over the surrounding countryside, while the back nine is classic parkland, with an abundance of beautiful trees and water hazards.

As well as the outstanding course, those playing golf at Donnington Grove have full use of the driving range.

Donnington Grove Golf Course

This entertaining layout was designed by the legendary Dave Thomas and encapsulates the surrounding landscape beautifully. The two nines are characteristically very different, as the front nine is set on the higher ground, making for a more undulating challenge. The back nine is more traditional parkland, using trees and water hazards to test all golfers. It has also held two EuroPro Tour events, making this one of the rising stars in the region. In 2011, it hosted the Trilby Tour Berkshire Championship featured on Sky Sports TV. The course is kept in excellent condition all year round with no temporary greens or tees. You will enjoy the experience.
