Course Review
Given a chance, we all at Mulligan+ would love to play the courses. But alas, this is a private members club only and we even got stopped at the entrance. If anyone has played it, we would love to hear your views especially if you know how to get on it to play...any invitations going?
At Archerfield, it’s definitely not golf as usual. We’re not about clubhouse cliques,
old-fashioned dress codes or petty rules. After all, this is the 21st century.
We like to think we play a different game. More relaxed, more welcoming, more about you, and your enjoyment of the great game of golf. Becoming a member of Archerfield is not just about playing golf (although, with golf courses this good it’s a close run thing!), it’s about an attitude of mind. We think it’s our privilege to have you as a member, not the other way round. We want you to feel at home, bring guests, and, of course, play as much golf as you like.
Archerfield Links location means it is on some of the best golfing land in the world. I believe Archerfield Links will become the jewel in the crown of golf courses in East Lothian.
I have tried to capture the very best qualities of links golf and, at the same time, the natural elements that are to be found here.
"The 12th hole of Fidra Links is one of my favourite holes, but I'm sure over time you'll come to find your personal favourites".

Course Designer and 3 times winner
on the European Tour.
The Fidra course is an inviting mixture of pine forest and a fast-running Scottish links. A formidable par 72 featuring four sets of tees, the greens are generous in size but fiendishly subtle in their contouring.
The bunkering is understated but punishing if you land in the wrong position of the tee. With a number of greens nestling in quiet, secret corners, the course winds its way out to the beach at Yellowcraig, where commanding views of the Firth of Forth and the coast of Fife await. An exacting links course of contrasting terrain it offers an ideal challenge for all levels of golfers.
Compared with Fidra, the Dirleton is a more traditional Scottish links with sweeping fairways, deep menacing bunkers and undulating sand dunes bordering each fairway.
Situated close by historic Archerfield House this world class golf course winds its way inland to Dirleton village, offering picturesque views of Dirleton Castle, Dirleton Kirk, Berwick Law and the Isle of May. Played over land that was used for golf for over five centuries, the layout is firmly rooted in the long history of this remarkable place.
