Course Review
Woodbridge Golf Club was formed in 1893 and is one of the oldest clubs in England. Woodbridge is a private members golf club, but guests of members and visitors are welcome to play the course and enjoy the facilities on payment of a Green Fee.
The Club has over 900 members of which 700 are playing members. It is an equal opportunity club with both men and women having full equity rights on the course and within the clubs constitution.
The initial design, in 1893, by the famous Scottish professional Davie Grant and subsequently updated by James Braid and Martin Hawtree, the 18 hole, Par 70 Heath Course offers an intriguing and varied test of golf. The 6,300 yard course features well separated fairways fringed with heather, gorse, oak and pine where each hole presents a different challenge. Well known for its sandy, free draining sub soil the course usually remain playable even after the heaviest rain and is maintained to the highest standards throughout the year. It provides a wonderful golfing experience, from both the quality of the course itself and the environment in which it sits, being the home of a number of rare species of wildlife.
