Course Review
Huntercombe celebrated its centenary in 2001 having formally opened in May 1901. Willie Park Junior, winner of the Open Championship in 1887 and 1889, designed the course and, as with all of Willie's designs, it was an instant success with local golfers. The distinguished American golfer, Walter Travis, visited Huntercombe in August that year said Huntercombe was, indeed, one of the finest courses on the eye and also one of the finest to play.
The course is fairly flat, apart from the second and third holes, and therefore offers a very comfortable round for players of all ages.
Over the years, the course has changed very little from its original design and is considered by many as one of the finest inland courses in the country.
