Set in a secluded valley within the triangle formed by the M25, M26 and M20 motorway network, Woodlands Manor is a memorable layout with magnificent views over the Kent countryside. Measuring a little over 6000 yards the course offers equal challenges to both high and low handicappers. Our head green keeper, Andrew Bott, and his team endeavour to produce a course that is fun but fair. Built on chalk, we are fortunate to enjoy natural drainage, making Woodlands Manor an excellent all year round course. The History - The original Woodlands Manor Golf Club was opened by Henry Cotton before the second world war although nothing is left of the original course to show that. It was closed 1n 1942 and converted to farmland to assist the war effort. This is how it remained and was acquired as such in 1949 by Geoffrey Leet who continued with the farming tradition building a successfull farming business supplying the surrounding district (including Brands Hatch) with fresh produce until the notion of converting the farmland back to a golf course occured to him after inviting a friend to hit some balls into a field. |
