The course was designed by Mr Charles Lawrie who is also famous for designing the Duke's course at Woburn and Ballyliffin (Old) in Ireland; the course was opened on the 1st April 1977. Situated in beautiful Hampshire countryside, the parkland course continues to mature and is fast gaining a reputation for providing excellent greens all year round. Measuring 5884 yards from the back tees, with a Par of 69 and a SSS of 69, the golfer's course management skills will be tested with some delightful short holes such as the 7th (left) and also various strategic dog-legs, such as the 4th and 9th holes. The 15th is unique with the 12th Century Priory remains providing an historic back-drop. |
