Unique amongst golf courses in the United Kingdom, Knole Park Golf Club is located within 1000 acres of outstanding parkland, home to the finest deerherd in the South East. Knole House, one of the greatest National Trust properties in the country, together with Knole Park itself, provides the perfect backdrop to this challenging course. The course was designed by J Abercromby in consultation with James Braid and has been enjoyed by its members and visitors since 1924. Following the natural contours of the Knole Park Estate, the course designed in 1924 by Abercromby and Fowler is rightly recognised as traditional. In fact, an inland links course is often the phrase used to describe this unique golfing location. The views are unrivalled and with the ever changing subtleties of the weather and season in a natural environment, each game is a new experience. As an out and back course with a single starting point, two-ball play is preferred. A recently refurbished practice area with an all-weather Huxley teeing surface provides the best possible preparation for a round of golf. |
