Reddish Vale Golf Club (Unmanaged)
| An Alister McKenzie course he also designed Augusta National A challenging valley course described recently as a "Golfing gem of Great Britain" The enthusiast will marvel at the almost magical use of the landscape and the way the natural contours and valleys are brought into play And do not forget there is also water on the course as the River Tame meanders its way around 12 of the holes; a watery grave for the errant golf ball beckons Every hole is a challenge and despite being considered a short course in this day and age only 6086 yards long it will tax the ingenuity of all who play it professional and amateur alike Five short holes each with their own particular characteristics not least of which is the fourth hole Arguably it is stroke 17 but it has destroyed more cards than any other hole with the exception of the 16th hole Play it in a wind and see why! The 16th is named after Henry Cotton who said "This hole should be parcelled up and sent to every golf club in the land" However the most talked about hole at The Vale is the 18th Play it and see why! Finally the 19th guarantees a very warm welcome |
