Ranfurly Castle Golf Club (Unmanaged)
| Founded on 1889 the Club acquired a large area of heathland and removed to a new course in 1902 with the new Clubhouse building being opened in 1905 The Club has produced some very fine golfers and still has amongst its members Leslie Taylor who lost in the final of the Amateur to John Beharrell Walter McLeod who captained Scotland and was chairman of selectors and Roy MacGregor who played Walker Cup The course is probably the finest heathland course in the West of Scotland and in addition to having very fine views of the Clyde Valley and beyond is a considerable golfing challenge |
