Newcastle West Golf Club was founded in 1938 and in 1994 moved to a splendid new course situated just off the N21 near the village of Ardagh, famed as the finding place of Ireland's national treasure "The Ardagh Chalice"

Newcastle West Golf Club is regarded as one of the finest parkland courses in the Mid-west Region and has developed a reputation for providing top quality playing and leisure facilities for members and guests alike.

The Arthur Spring designed parkland course is built to the highest standards on 160 acres of sandy freedraining soil. The course is open for play all year round and is very popular with societies. An extensive practice area, driving range and putting area are also included. 

Take the Ardagh / Foynes road from Newcastle West. Beyond Ardagh Cross take the second right (at the fork, sign post for Golf Club on your left). Continue on this road: take the second right. Continue on this road, take the first right. Continue straight (For approx ﾼ mile ). Golf Club entrance is on you left-hand side.

From Limerick

Continue forward past the Rathkeale by-pass towards Newcastle West. Take the third exit on right hand side (Signposted- Golf Club/ St Kierans GAA Club). Continue approx. ﾼ mile and take the first right hand turn (Signposted Golf Club). Continue for approx. 1 mile. Take first Left (Signposted Golf Club). Continue forward for approx. 1 mile, take right hand turn (Signposted Golf Club). Continue on straight. The Golf Club entrance is on your right hand side.

From Foynes/ Askeaton

On the Limerick side of Foynes there is a right hand turn off to Newcastle West (Left hand turn off from Limerick/ Askeaton direction). Continue on through Shanagolden Village. As you approach Ardagh there is a 50km speed sign and the sign for Ardagh on your left hand side. Immediately after these signs there is a sharp left hand turn on to a by- road. (There is a sign post for the Golf Club directly opposite this turn off on your right hand side, but it is difficult to spot before you get to it). Continue on this road: take the second right. Continue on this road, take the first right. Continue on straight (For approx ﾼ mile) and the Golf Club entrance is on your left hand side.
