Lothianburn Golf Club was established in 1893 and is situated at the foot of the Pentland Hills, just a mile south of Scotland's Capital City, Edinburgh. As one of the six classic courses on the Lothians James Braid Trail, visitors and guests are assured a warm and friendly welcome. The course enjoys a high reputation across the Lothians for the condition and speed of its superb greens. There are a good variety of holes, including two demanding par 5's and some tricky short par 4's. The unique charm of the layout is enhanced by stunning views across Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth.
At just under 6,000 yards, Lothianburn may be short by today's standards, but with a SSS of 69 against the par of 71 and greens which regularly exceed 12 on the Stimpmeter, it represents a stiff test for golfers of all levels.
Membership is open in most categories this season, and Lothianburn is again offering special Golfing Packages for Visiting Parties, which you can book in advance. |
