Le Touessrok Golf Course is across the water form the resort mainland on its own beautiful island, Ile aux Cerfs - 'island of deer'. The deer have gone, and what has been created here has been described as the 'wonder of the game'.

Championship 18-holes

Bernhard Langer designed the 18 hole, par 72 championship course to challenge advanced players, while remaining exciting and playable for recreational golfers.
  
This is achieved with four sets of tee decks for each hole, so the angles of attack and approach vary. There is a generous provision of fairway where appropriate. The greens are mainly small and undulating, requiring precise approach shots.

Situated on the east coast of Mauritius, the resort is only 50 minutes from the airport and 50 minutes from capital Port Louis. Golfing on the atoll cannot get finer than this resort.

There are nine lakes in total with plentiful holes requiring tee shots across sea inlets into fairways. Those who have been to Le Touessrok at least once would agree that the island is just wonderful for golf.

Playing at over 7000 yards, this is longest course in Mauritius. The course offers both long and short gentle and demanding holes requiring accuracy as well as prior thought. Langer designed this course to challenge professional players while also keeping it interesting for recreational golfers. The resort is a favourite for golf professionals due to its perfect blend of the playability and the scenery. It remains Open from early morning till sunset, and offers its golfers ample time to add finesse to their shots.

What must be said is take golf balls and lots of them. Speaking to the Director, David Marsh, he even admitted that when he returns to the UK on holiday he begins to realise how difficult Le Tourssrok is. Its the Carnoustie of Mauritius or perhaps the Canousite of Mauritius, the Indian Ocean and Africa. Its tough.

Personally, I think that everyone should play this course simply because of its beauty, situation and to experience the boat trip to the club house. Its exceptional. But remember - do not expect to have your best round here unless you are a very good golfer or very lucky. Its very hard but knowing this, enjoy the location and one of the most stunning rounds you will have.
