The Isle of Wedmore Golf Club is situated overlooking the Somerset Levels on the outskirts of the historic village of Wedmore in Somerset.
The village dates back to Saxon times and features in history books as the location of the historic peace treaty made between King Alfred and the Danes in AD878, which is commemorated on the club emblem.
The name ‘Isle of Wedmore’ again can be traced back to Saxon times when the village was completely surrounded by marshland and the Somerset Levels were flooded - something that is easy to imagine when looking over the Cheddar Valley from the back 9 holes over the past few winters!
