Hillingdon Golf Club, founded in 1892, is the third oldest golf club, and the oldest 9 hole golf club, in Middlesex. Located between Vine Lane, Hillingdon Hill and RAF Uxbridge, the course, which features many ancient oak trees, is set in 28 acres of mature parkland that was once part of the old Hillingdon Manor Estate. At 5490 yards, with a par of 68 and 18 separate tees, the course is bounded in part by the River Penn, which comes into play on 3 of the 9 holes. As a members club with the stated aim of encouraging playing the game of golf, Hillingdon Golf Club seeks to maintain the standards and traditions of the sport while welcoming golfers of both sexes from all sections of the community and all ages and abilities. There are several categories of membership available to new entrants and it is not necessary to have a handicap or to know a member of the club to apply for membership. |
