As if stoutly making the statement that Northern Ireland has not been foung wanting in contributing to Irelands new golfing image, the grandiose Galgorm Castle has emerged as a shining symbol of all that is the very best in contemporary golf.

Since the early 1990s, the Ulster counties have blossomed with countless new courses. But few have more character and presence than this wonderful creation on the outskirts of Ballymena by the lovely glens of Antrim.

Its charm has its origins in a 400 years old estate on which stands one of Irelands historic castles built in 1618 by the eccentric Sir Faithful Fortescue.
