Easingwold Golf Club lies about half a mile from the charming market town of Easingwold, on the Stillington Road, looking across fields to the village of Crayke and the foothills of the North York Moors beyond. It was founded in 1930 by a small group of far-sighted and dedicated local golfers.

A modest nine hole course was constructed which met the needs of the golfing fraternity of the area, but as the game became increasingly popular, additional land was obtained and an 18 hole course was duly opened in 1976. Facetiously described by some as 'Easy Easingwold' though not by the serious and discerning golfer; it is a well set wooded and scenic course but with more than its share of difficulties for the wayward player.

It is entirely surrounded by farmland and is particularly enjoyable because it is laid out in one of the loveliest areas of North Yorkshire and is remote from any habitation or busy roads.It is not uncommon to see deer skip across the course, their short white tails bobbing as they run. Foxes, badgers and the less desirable squirrels and rabbits inhabit the land. Birds of all species abound and there are few things better than to walk the course on a sunny, fresh spring morning, listening to the chaffinch, skylark, fieldfare or the distant rat-a-tat of lesser spotted woodpeckers, declaring their territory.
