The Wellrig Burn runs through the course and comes into play on several of the holes. There are a couple of short climbs but otherwise the course has gentle slopes and gives wonderful views of the countryside around Duns and towards the Cheviot Hills to the South. The feature hole is the 15th. A short par 3 only 107yds long. It has an elevated tee and a 2 tier green with a burn in front and behind, hence its name “Double Trouble”. Players have a good chance of a birdie 2 or a double bogie 5. Visitors are very welcome on a play and pay basis and no handicap certificate is req. Our new changing facilities were opened in 2006, and along with our extension of a bar and restaurant a few years ago, and our South facing patio and seating area, it all makes for a very enjoyable day out for all concerned. As winners of Visit Scotland’s Award for the friendliest 18 hole golf course in the Borders for 3 out of the last 4 years, you are assured of a very warm welcome. As we are not directly on the main tourist route our Course is not as busy as the ones near the bigger towns, so we can accommodate visitors and party’s most days and most Weekends. Full catering is available all day every day, and the number to phone for a tee time is 01361 882194. Our Winter prices between Nov. and March are 1/2 price and as we do not use winter greens, the course is still very enjoyable, and meals and snacks are still available. We are less than an hour from Edinburgh and less than one and a half hours from Newcastle and fifteen minutes inland from Berwick upon Tweed. Give us a try, and as most of our visitors to the Course are repeat visitors, you might be glad you did.. |
