Mark Twain was quoted as saying it spoiled a nice walk.  Around 900 members of Dullatur Golf Club would obviously disagree.  Mind you, even if you share Mark Twain’s sentiments on golf, you would be hard put not to find something to entertain you at the beautifully situated Craigmarloch club.

In fact, drop in on the average day and you are just as likely to find members sweating it out in the gym, relaxing in the Jacuzzi or working on their golf handicaps.

The club has a fully equipped gymnasium with the usual running machines, exercise bikes and the extremely popular abdomen cradles.  After working out you can enjoy some well deserved chill out time in the wet area with its two Jacuzzis, steam room and sun-bed.  You don’t have to be a fully paid up golf member to take advantage of the gym facilities, in fact only about 20 per cent of the 300 members are.

There are also special social memberships available, so if you are in the mood for relaxation you can pop in and enjoy a meal in the club restaurant, with it's breathtaking views over the two golf courses and the stunning Kilsyth hills beyond, or enjoy a game of snooker in the bar. 

The thriving bowling section is unusual for its kind in that it is a mixed gender club.  It was decided from the beginning that this would be a democratic club and this has worked out brilliantly. In fact, we have just had a woman president.  Members have also brought glory to the club, including junior Scottish International Leslie Thomas, who last year was runner up in the British Isles Single Ladies Championship.

The club has members of all ages ranging from juniors to seniors.  If after all the entertainment you suddenly see the light and are tempted to give golf a go as well, you will be made very welcome. 

There have been a lot of people new to golf that have recently joined the club and all seem to be enjoying themselves and doing well on the golf course. 

The golf club has its own PGA professional golfer, Duncan Sinclair, and there are also plenty of excellent practice facilities.
